Alrighty so, I had a sample of this years ago and loved it very much so I was excited to see it being offered up as sample from sephora.com again and decided to jump on it and review it for you folksickles here on the blog.

To quote from fragrantica.com, here are the fragrance notes:
Top: Cyclamen, Rose Water, Melon, Calone, Lotus, Rose, Freesia
Mid: Carnation, Lily, Water Peony, Lily-of-the-Valley
Base: Exotic Woods, Tuberose, Amber, Sandalwood, Musk, Osmanthus, Cedar
As you guys can see the fragrance is a complex bouquet of floral notes with a woodsy base which hearkens back to a more vintage era of perfumes where such complexities were appreciated. I've noticed that the new generation of fragrances has much more simplicity to it and is meant for that cocktailing life. Anywho, as long as it smells good to me I don't have an issue either way.
Smelling it straight out of the bottle it smells very watery and clean - I smell the melon with a lot of the lotus and water peony notes along with some freesia. What I appreciate about this scent is that although it's heavily floral that's balanced out by the watery notes in here which keep it smelling clean and fresh/light, it's not a cloying floral nor does it attack you with an intensity that some floral fragrances have, which I appreciate.

Freshly applied...I smell a really strong fresh, watery note which I'm going to say is the lotus with just a slight hint of freesia. As the scent dries down the lotus-freesia mix is still there but lily-of-the-valley has definitely joined the party. This smells really elegant, fresh, and clean which I really adore. I think for me it's the perfect summer fragrance but would also be really fantastic as a "work" scent if I worked in a conservative environment... although I'd probably apply less than I do now because the scent is quite intense when initially applied.
In terms of wear, I've had this for 11 hours now and don't really smell anything.
Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. Thanks!
Disclaimer: I got this as a free sample on sephora.com - samples change frequently so I can't tell you it'll still be there but if you pop into a physical store you can get a sample made for you.
