H&M Lipgloss in Say Yes

A case of you
In the red is back, but not with a vengeance. If you noticed July has come and gone and now its September and I still have not showcased all my red lippies which was slash is what the challenge was/is about. Have I given up? Nope, its just that I decided to stretch out my red lip posts instead of forcing myself everyday to wear a potent red just because ... of the challenge. Don't get me wrong, the everyday challenge was great  and without the pressure I'd still probably be patting on bright colours instead of swiping them on. 'In the red' posts have taught me a lot of things and my life is better for it. I've become a bit more brave and willing to put my wants and needs on the table instead of accepting what others might want/wish/have for me. With that said the challenge is still in effect i.e. wearing red lip products in my collection full strength in public but the time frame is longer which gives me more time to perfect my pout and posts. Thanks for sticking around with me.

Now onto the lipgloss ...

H&M Lipgloss in 'Say Yes' is a bright strawberry red. Its not sticky but does have some grip to it. It seems to be quite water resistant and does not apply well to a wet surface so it's best to apply it to dry lips (at least that's what I found out). It does have a tendency to bleed (go outside the lip line) through wear which will make lips look rather messy, especially since it is a bold shade.

Personally I would advocate wearing this lip gloss on a occasion when you will able to check your makeup at regular intervals. Alternatively you could at least ensure that a mirror is at hand, in view or at least in your pocket :). I personally gained a rude awakening whilst stealing a glance in a shop's mirror, which showed me that my pout looked more bloodied than beautiful :(. Plus after eating ... this lip gloss almost vanished with only slight remains so, I would not say it's long lasting or can withstand a whole day without a touch up.

Nevertheless, one of the best features about this lip gloss is the smell. Have you ever opened a fresh bag of skittles? Do you like the smell? (I do). Well this lipgloss smells like a bag of skittles :) yipee! Its been a long time since I munched on that rainbow delicacy and with my new healthy eating 'plan' (waiting to be put into practice) I have resisted the urge to buy a bag just to try out and see (though I have bought other sweets, naughty naughty me).

All in all, I really like this lip gloss though its not the first one I would reach for if I wanted a stress free application. It's very glossy and quite red, though not as opaque and potent as the colour in the tube. It doesn't dry out my lips and they feel happy without a lip balm. The only downside is that application can be uneven aka messy ... other than that, I really like the texture and the look that a light application gives me (plus the smell). Also I should say that it is pigmented and you can build up on the intensity though things will get even more messier.
